Chapel at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy
Peter Kolkay, Bassoon
Russian composers and their historic love for the sunny climes of Italy set the stage for another pair of intimate concerts at our second home at the glorious Chapel at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy. Mozart's beguiling Divertimento and Tchaikovsky's evergreen Serenade for Strings, inspired by a trip to Italy, frame our annual foray into contemporary fare: Russell Platt's lyrical Bassoon Concerto, played by one of the rising stars of our time - Peter Kolkay, resident artist of the world-renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
