With a nod to the Joseph Haydn Bicentennial in 2009, we open our season with a truly festive celebration of Hungarian music, from Bela Bartók's wistful Violin Concerto No. 1 with the young Hungarian-American virtuoso Maria Bachmann to whirling national dances of Bartók and Kodály and the riotous Hungarian Rhapsody of Franz Liszt, "The Carnival at Pest." Introducing our new relationship with the fabulous new Oconomowoc Arts Center, this concert will be an afternoon to remember.
Please bring non-perishable food items for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry.
Concert sponsored by ProHealth Care, the Oconomowoc Area Foundation, and George & Edith Love in memory of Helen Pavlovics. Soloist sponsored by the Don L. & Carol G. Taylor Family Foundation.
