Success Through Music

Through this program, the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra provides instruction by professional musicians to select underserved students in Milwaukee and Waukesha communities. The benefits of music education include increased study skills, communication skills, self-esteem, self-discipline and cognitive skills in every subject area including mathematics and science. Musical instruction in violin, viola and cello is both individually and group-based on a weekly basis. Students who are unable to secure the use of an instrument are given one to use during their time in the program. The instruction is followed by a final performance by the students in the spring.

In-kind donations of string instruments are currently being accepted.
We are in need especially of ½-size violins and 12-inch violas, ½-size and ¾ size cellos and ½-size basses. These instruments are desperately needed by the underserved students who take part in the Success Through Music program at four locations in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties. If you have a gently used instrument to donate, or would like further information on any of the Education programs, please contact the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra at 262-547-1858 or via email.

Success Through Music is supported by grants fromt the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and the United Performing Arts Fund.
